In August 2017 I set out on an open-ended bicycle tour circumnavigating the US. This video blog highlights the thirteenth leg of my journey from Dauphin Island, AL. to New Orleans, LA.
This two-day ride was filled with huge bridges, ocean views, and the first part of the bayou. All the riding involved crossing huge waterways on amazing bridges. It seemed that every pedal stroke brought another bridge into view. As the ride left Alabama, Mississippi brought incredible views of the gulf and the beach. The resorts and white sands were expansive. From Mississippi, the ride into Louisiana involved small bridges over the bayou. The scenery evolved as we rode through the bayou surrounded by nothing but swamp. The riding was very quiet until we got into New Orleans. New Orleans brought old oaks and big buildings. Join me as I experience the beauty of the gulf and the bayou!
