Finding freedom and fitness

Living a fitness lifestyle is not always easy. There are so many things going on in life and work that make it difficult.  Finding the time to work out with so many other commitments is tough. I find this to be one of my biggest challenges. My office can feel like a prison especially when I can look outside and see the sun shining. I want to have the freedom to be able to walk out anytime and go enjoy the outdoors. Unfortunately with a set 9 to 5 schedule this isn’t very realistic. However, I think that you should never settle for something that doesn’t make you happy. This is why I am actively pursuing other business ventures (like this website).

I know that staying at my job I have now would be settling, and I never want to settle. I want to continuously work to find my passion whether it comes through a location independent business or different work somewhere else. The important thing is to follow your passion. This is so important with exercise as well. I would not bike, swim, or run if I didn’t enjoy them. I find that doing these things makes me like them even more.

Eating Healthy

Another challenge I have is eating right especially when going to new places. I find that when I visit a new place or city I want to try everything even if it is the unhealthiest thing on the planet. Trying new foods I something I love and I consider myself somewhat of a foodie. I also don’t like calling a day a cheat day. I would prefer to just eat what I enjoy. The best way to combat this is to eat mostly healthy meals. I still want to enjoy myself but I find I feel sluggish if I go too far off the deep end. If I eat something I would consider unhealthy I try to make my next day or 2 days of meals healthier. It also helps that while traveling I am constantly walking around.

My challenges may seem difficult at first, but I know I can get through them bit by bit. Making small incremental changes to habits is the best way to overcome difficulty.
